Growth is not linear and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying lol.
I know trying to put all the pieces together can be overwhelming and honestly, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
Perfect is overrated.
But as long as you try to avoid these mistakes the best you can it will get easier with practice!
I love a good checklist so here is one for you to save for later!
⚡️Have an optimized bio: this is your calling card! Tell your audience how you can help them and what they can expect from you. This is where you are going to attract your ideal client with your super power. How can you help them?
⚡️Speak to your target audience. If you speak to everyone you sell to no one and that goes for any industry you are in. Avoid using verbiage such as ya’ll, you guys, friends, etc. Essentially anything that refers to your audience as plural. Speak to them as if they are your best friend it’s just the two of you, one on one having coffee.
⚡️Use SEO in your bio, captions and hashtags. If you’re not familiar with SEO these are keywords that your target audience can type in the search bar.. Similar to pinterest.
⚡️Use a hashtag strategy. Don’t use random hashtags that have nothing to do with your content or purpose. Using specific hashtags related to your content, target audience, and niche will have a higher possibility of landing in front of your ideal client.
⚡️Please caption your posts. Posting without purpose as a business owner is confusing to your audience. If you are a product based business and you post pretty photos of your product, you still need a caption. What is it? What does it do? What’s the story that you can give this product? (Also… you should deter from posting photos of just product on your feed. You are not a catalog, you are a person.)
⚡️Use CTA’s. This is the action you want your target audience to make after they have read or watched your content. Tell them how to get more information about what product or service you are offering by referring to your bio or to send you a DM. Then go below surface level and ask a question! Start a conversation in the comments section.
⚡️Use Reels! If you want to reach more of your target audience, reels are going to get you there! Make sure they are simple, to the point, and that your captions are clear and within the frame. Make them edutaining! a.k.a. Educate by entertaining. You can even make them more relatable to your target audience if you didn’t want to use them to promote your business. FYI, I highly reccommend this route. It portrays more of your personality instead of constantly showing your product. Save that for your stories.
